Men’s Fashion in the US.

To quote the great Rivers Cuomo of Weezer, “My fashion sense is a little wack…”.

Like most young men growing up in the south, having a good fashion sense is not necessarily on the top of our todo list. Although I would have normally overlooked this materialistic concept of buying fancy clothes to impress others, I noticed first hand the power of wearing a button down vs. a baggy shirt and boardshorts.

My interest in this topic stems from not only the viability of entering this competitive market, but I wanted to know more about how companies psychologically approach their marketing strategies.

There seems to be a universal standard of men’s fashion. An easy way for any man to up his fashion game is include a tailored blazer or sportcoat as an easy means to dress up a look. Seeing that historically men have traditionally stayed within the three piece suite as a means for formal attire, there is a clear influence on today's fashion trends.
